Details: This knife is made from 1095 high carbon steel which is also referred to as “Cutlery Spring Steel”. It is well known for its use in manufacturing commercial saw blades. This high carbon steel hones to a razor sharp edge, retains its edge and is easier to sharpen. The indented swirl pattern on the blade surface retains oil, which helps keep the blade from rusting and hides visual marks and blemishes commonly found in steel. This extreme high carbon steel will discolor over time and is very susceptible to rust/corrosion. We recommend keeping the blade oiled and keeping it outside of the sheath during long periods of storage.
